Social distancing weddings

How will weddings look in the new Covid-19 socially distanced world?!

Weddings are now more intimate affairs at the moment with only 30 guests allowed at the venue to ensure social distancing. In our experience, whilst the smaller numbers can present a challenge, they can actually turn out to be some of the most rewarding events, allowing you to really get to know or catch up with your guests. There’s every possibility that the format of the day itself will change so we may have to adapt to a very different sort of wedding day than we were previously used to.

The day will probably be far shorter with a lot more focus on the meal than the dancing. It will probably start with the ceremony at maybe 2pm, followed by an outdoor drinks reception, then the wedding breakfast and speeches, with the celebrations wrapping up at 8 or 9pm. That doesn’t mean that your guests can’t be entertained. We can still offer our photo booths and Magic Mirror Selfie booths. We can also supply you our large rustic light up letters (great for photos), venue uplighting and our new wedding neon signs.

Wedding Day Music

We have always offered an all day package where we DJ for your ceremony & background music at your wedding breakfast. This is now becoming more and more popular while there is no evening disco. We will play background music as your guests arrive and totally take care of all the music at your ceremony. You will no longer have to worry that your sisters mate will play the wrong song for your big entrance on her iPhone!

We will play background music at your wedding breakfast and can take requests via song cards or text message.

Although this my not be the wedding you had planned it doesn’t mean it has to be a total disaster. Plus, you can always book us to DJ for you later on in the year for one massive party!!

Danesfield House Wedding DJ

We were back at Danesfield House this weekend and this time for the wedding of Ilaria & Ian.

We were hired for our first all day wedding of the year and supplied a sound system with Ibiza chill out tracks in The Grand Hall, the music for the wedding ceremony, background music at the wedding breakfast along with our radio mic for speeches and the evening disco with blue uplighting in the Versailles Suite. Ilaria and Ian asked for no photos to be taken of the dance floor so unfortunately we cannot show you just how good the evening was. But if you have ever been to an Italian wedding I am sure you have some idea!

Congratulations to Ilaria and Ian on your wedding amazing day at Danesfield House. It was great to meet you, your family and friends and witness some outstanding dance moves!

Winters Tale Country Barn Wedding DJ

We had such a great night DJing for Michelle and Richard at Winters Tale Country Barn. Michelle booked our rustic wedding DJ set up and blue uplighting. Richard and Michelle actually got married a few months ago in Australia and this was more of a family get together than wedding reception.

The Olde Bell in Hurley Wedding DJ – Sammy & Max

We were up early on a very misty Buckinghamshire morning to deliver a speaker system to be used for Sammy & Max’s background music at their wedding breakfast. I preloaded the system with all of Sammys requests so all they would have to do is switch on the power when they were ready and it was good to go with 5 hours of music.

We came back to The Olde Bell at 6pm to get our rustic DJ set up ready for the evening party. Even though the sound limiter is a tough one to manage at this venue (its set to just 85db!), we still managed to whip up a good atmosphere and have a full dance floor. Sammy & Rob are the nicest people you could meet and I had an absolute blast DJing for them, their family and their friends.

Our rustic wedding DJ set up is now available for your wedding day. We can also taylor this especially for you. You are free to add your own flowers, framed photos, props or you can leave the set up entirely to us. The choice is yours!

Not only will our rustic dj set up fit perfectly with your country venue, it will also look great in your first dance and evening pictures.

The best 25 last dance wedding songs of 2019

Last dance songs are the ones that end your wedding reception on a high. For the majority of your wedding guests, this is their final chance to shake their stuff on the dance floor, celebrate a truly awesome day and give you the a perfect send-off.

Always get your DJ (or band, or whoever’s running your playlist) to announce that it’s the last song so everyone gets to the dance floor.

There are two main choices for last dance tracks 1) An upbeat party song that everyone will sing along to and dance like a loon – Mr Brightside is the perfect example. 2) A romantic slow dance to end your wedding on a tender note, think. ‘All Of Me’ By John Legend. Both are equally great.

If you want a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that all your guests will know the words to, pick a 70s/80s/90s tune like something from ABBA, Journey or Queen. If you want to go modern, make sure it’s not too obscure. Adele or Ed Sheeran are great, but David Guetta’s new track might have passed your older guests by.

Maybe you had 2 choices for the first dance? Perfect time to get that other track on the playlist but right at the very end of the evening! To be absolutely honest the last track is totally down to you. So pick whatever it is you want. I have DJed at over 46 weddings this year and at every single one the remaining guests have always danced to the last song regardless of what it is!

Chicheley Hall Wedding DJ for Sammy & Anton

Sammy & Anton contacted us after listening to my DJ mixes on my soundcloud page. They were looking for a DJ who could mix old school RnB, Garage, Dancehall, Disco and Motown. They gave me a list of tracks they would like played and a few they definitely didn’t want played. I always encourage couples to do this as it gives me a good idea of how you want the night to sound.

After the first dance we kept the dance floor full by playing Motown and a few disco classics. We then mixed in some old school RnB with a few new tracks from Drake, Beyonce & Rihanna. We then went into a garage mix and ended the night on the brides request of Bob Marley’s Is This Love.
