Wedding DJ for Huntsmill Farm in Buckingham – Emma & Guys Wedding

We were booked by Guy and Emma to DJ at their wedding at Huntsmill Farm in February 2019. I met with the couple at The George & Dragon in Marlow to discuss the music and various set ups. These two were really cool and super laid back considering their wedding was only a week away!

Emma was into her 90s and classic RNB & Guy wanted to make sure that we got lots of indie and rock into the set on the evening. They wanted to avoid the real cheesy tracks (Macarena, Saturday Night etc) and have a good mix of stuff that would keep people dancing including their requests.

We set up our purple uplights around the barn with our white starlight DJ booth and moving head lights on podiums.

The evening kicked off with “Never In My Wildest Dreams’ by Dan Auerbach. (I didn’t know it at the time but Dan Auerbach is actually the lead singer from the Black Keys and I LOVE the Black Keys!)

We then kept a good mix of Motown, Disco, RnB and Indie to keep the dancefloor busy and energy levels up. It really was a great night and midnight came around so quickly! We closed the night with a song that was chosen by the bride and groom and a indie classic ‘You and Me” by The Wannadies. Thank you Guy and Emma for choosing me to be your wedding DJ!!!

Christmas 2018 was our busiest yet with more Wedding Discos booked in then any other year so far! We were booked by Rosie and Mike all the way from Australia to DJ at their wedding at The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor. I met up with the couple at the venue a week before their big day. We went over the disco set up, timings and the kind of music they were both into. Rosie was into her 90s cheese while Mike was a massive RnB & Garage fan and I was really looking forward to getting behind the decks for this one!

The white starlight DJ booth with blue and purple uplighting looked great at The Dairy. We started the evening off with ‘Nobody Does It Better’ by Carly Simon and then kicked things off with some disco classics. From there we played across the board went into the 90s cheese and finished on some RnB and Garage classics. I gathered everybody onto the dance floor for the last song of the evening as requested by the bride and groom ‘High Hopes’ by Panic! At The Disco and when everybody started chanting “ONE LAST SONG” Wonderwall by Oasis was the perfect choice!

De Vere Latimer Estate Wedding DJ / Julia & Bens wedding

Looking for a DJ for your wedding at De Vere Latimer Estate in Chesham? I am over the moon to announce that we are now one of the venues recommended suppliers!

I was lucky enough to be booked by Julia and Ben to be their wedding DJ at De Vere Latimer Estate in Chesham just before Christmas. We supplied Julia and Ben with background music in the bar area as their guests arrived and also a sound system in the Cavendish Suite for background music at the wedding breakfast. After the speeches we pulled back the partition ready for the first dance. Julia and Bens first dance was ‘One Love’ by Bob Marley and I encouraged friends and family to join them on the dancefloor halfway through. This is a great way to kick off the evening as you always start with a full dance floor. After Stevie Wonders ‘Signed, Sealed Delivered’ we were off!

Julia had emailed me a long list of requests from family and friends so I had a pretty good idea of the music everybody wanted to hear and I am happy to say that we had a busy dance floor all night. I love mixing new tracks with the classics and George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’ followed by Dire Straits ‘Money For Nothing’ was my favourite reaction of the evening!

The bride and groom had chosen ‘At Last’ by Etta James as the last song of the night and I gathered everybody onto the dance floor to finish the evening with a bang!

Thank you to Julia and Ben for choosing me as their wedding DJ, to Claire Patterson the photographer and all the staff at De Vere Latimer Estate. The whole day and the evening was absolutely brilliant!

Wedding DJ at The Olde Bell in Hurley for Victoria & Julian.

I was booked by Victoria and Julian to DJ at their wedding at The Olde Bell in Hurley in December. I met up with Victoria at the venue a few months before their wedding day to sit down and discuss timings, our various set ups and music choices.

Victoria explained that she and all her friends are regular visitors to ibiza and not only love the clubs but are really into the music too. This was great news for me! Having been the resident DJ for Hedkandi I was more than happy be the DJ for the evening!!

Victoria and Julian wanted a house style wedding disco with a few classics and requests thrown into the mix.

We decided on the white starlight DJ booth with our giant rustic love letters. this really did make the Malt House look amazing. I used 2 moving head lights with one overhead lighting unit. I always try to go for minimal lighting that sweeps a room rather than tacky red, green and blue dots flashing everywhere!

Victoria and Julian also decided that they didn’t want the traditional first dance so instead I announced to guests that the evening disco had started and that all requests were welcome! We kicked things off with the ibiza classic ‘Anthem’ by N-joi and from there I mixed in more house classics including ‘To be In love’ by Masters At Work, Spiller by Groovejet & ‘Dreamer’ by Living Joy. It really was a great party and to get more of a mix of ages onto the dance floor I started to work in some disco classics to the set finishing off with Madness and then Wonderwall by Oasis. This really was a great night to be part of and I am happy that everyone had such a good time!

The bride and groom had hired a black and white checkerboard dance floor so I decided to go for the black starlight DJ booth with purple and blue lighting.

I was again booked by Hotel Du Vin to DJ at their hotel in Henley On Thames in Oxfordshire. This time it was for Marinas 50th birthday party and set up was in the Ruinart Room (our favourite function room!).

This room is the perfect size for a wedding or event. Not too big or too small, the acoustics are great and the staff even fit a mobile bar so you do not have to walk through the restaurant to get a drink.

Tonight I went with a stylish and modern look with purple uplighting, a black starlight DJ booth, 2 moving head lights on light up podiums and a overhead moving lamp. I would absolutely recommend Hotel Du Vin for any function and am looking forward to coming back here in a few weeks for my next booking!

Last week we took the 10 minute drive from Marlow to Maidenhead to DJ for Sharon and Jon at Fredricks Hotel & Spa. Penelope the wedding and events coordinator was just fantastic. She made us feel very welcome and ensured everything flowed smoothly.

We got to the venue just as the speeches were winding down and were set up and ready to go by 7pm. Tonight decided on a white starlight dj booth, 2 moving head lights on our trademark podiums, a overhead lighting effect and purple uplighting around the room.

We loved this wedding disco set up at Fredricks Hotel and I think it blended in really well with the bride and grooms choice of colours.

The guests were called to gather around the dancefloor for the cutting of the cake and we went straight into David Bowie’s ‘Absolute Beginners’ for the first dance. From here we started the party with Toploaders ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’ and kept the dancefloor busy all night long! I loved my time DJing at Fredricks Hotel and Sharon, Jon and their guests all had a great time. I woke up the next day to a lovely email thanking me for their wedding disco the night before. I love my job and its nights like these that make it so so special!

Tom & Rachels wedding disco at Manor Farm Barn in Oxfordshire

We were back at Manor Farm Barn in Marsh Gibbon but this time for Tom & Rachels wedding.

The evening started with Tom & Rachels first dance to Kodaline’s ‘The One’ (great choice, I love that song!) and with a little help from the bridesmaids by the time the first dance finished we already had a full dancefloor!

Tom and Rachel had asked their guests to send over songs that would get them on the dancefloor so I had a good list of requests to play from. Every wedding is different and this is such a great idea as it gives me an idea of what your guests like.

We had a packed dancefloor all night long and when it came to the last song Tom, Rachel and the whole wedding party were not ready to leave! I managed to play one last song with the bride and groom in the middle of the dancefloor. Of course it was Wonderwall by Oasis and everyone in the barn was signing along. It was a great way to end such a wonderful day!

Jon & Catherines Wedding Disco at Macdonald Compleat Angler in Marlow

In May I met up with Jon & Catherine to discuss their wedding at the Compleat Angler in Marlow in August. The couple decided to book my evening reception dance package starting at 8pm finishing at midnight and also decided to add some background music at the entrance for the hotel as their evening and as their evening guests arrived.

Jon wanted to start the night with their first dance being Whitney Houstons I Will Always Love You…. well about 20 seconds of it and then straight into Reach by S CLUB 7! The wedding guests were a bit taken aback but then all rushed onto the dancefloor to join the happy couple. And that is pretty much where they stayed all night long!

I had a playlist of everything from 60s to 90s cheese and it all went down a storm. Seeing everyone dancing to Move On Up by Curtis Mayfield and then singing so loud to The Killers Mr Brightside really made my night! Check out the pics below!
